Missiles To The Moon
In light of the recent find of water deposits found on the moon, NASA has decided to hit our nightly neighbor with a missile in hopes of finding larger amounts of water and/or water crystals. WHY??? I’m sorry, I’m sure the highly educated people at NASA know what they’re doing, but I’m very skeptical about this. Do we have any idea what will happen if they hit it just a little wrong and move it out of whack?
I’ll admit that I don’t know a lot about how the planets and their moons stay in a fixed orbit, but I’m pretty sure that messing with nature is a bad idea. They say that over the past few thousand years, the moon has moved slightly away from the Earth. A full moon doesn’t seem as large today as it did a couple thousand years ago. But, do we really want to take a chance on pushing it just enough to potentially send it out into space?
Everywhere you look these days, you hear someone else talking about the impending doom of 2012. Is NASA going to make sure it happens by throwing our fragile balance of existence to the solar winds? I’m not going to pretend to be an expert, but I really think this is a bad idea and that a LOT more research should be done.
