It’s no secret that I love my Amazon Kindle. I rave about it every chance I get. But when this new Amazon Kindle Fire was announced, I almost hurt myself. I WANT ONE!!!!! I told my daughter that if I somehow manage to get one of these little babies, I’ll give her my other one. So now she’s dropping hints all over that Mom wants Fire!!! I just hope no one bought me a lighter for Christmas. LOL

Anyway, my buddy Justin Germino over at DragonBlogger.com has just announced that he’s giving away 2 Amazon Kindle Fires. OMG!!!!! Not just one, but 2 of them. I’m feeling dizzy already. And the cool thing is that this is an easy content to get in on. There are only 3 requirements and the rest are extras. The requirements are that you follow DragonBlogger and Blog Engage on Facebook and @aidyreviews on Twitter. That’s it. If you can do that, you’re in Baby!!! The extras are pretty easy too. Stuff like retweeting about the contest (which can be done daily), following Justin on Twitter, and that sort of thing. Each is a single entry into the giveaway.

But if you really want to hit the big time, do a blog post like this one. However, if you do this, make sure to add the links for the site’s sponsors. If it wasn’t for these awesome sponsors, there would be no fire and it’s too cold out there to be without fire. I’d personally like to thank all the sponsors who helped Justin with this contest. Not just because it gives me 2 chances to win, but because it’s nice to know that there are still some extremely kind people in this world. Restores my faith in human nature.

So head on over to DragonBlogger.com and get your name in the hat. This is going to be a great contest and there’s going to be 2 people out there in the blogosphere that are going to have a VERY Merry Christmas.

I had initially planned on doing a quickie post about some of the giveaways going on around the book blogosphere, but I was struck with a bit of inspiration in the process. In looking for some killer giveaways, I found some even better book blogs that I thought I would pass along.

The first one I found is Red Hot Books. I love a good book, but add a little paranormal twist to it and I’m hooked. But add a little naughtiness and paranormal twists to it and I’m totally there. And this site brings it all . If there’s a book out there that brings any or all of these elements to the table, then that book can probably be found at Red Hot Books.

Another site having a giveaway is Fiction Vixen. I love this site. I’ve been a member for a LONG time here and found some of the coolest books through this site. It started out as a place for the webmistress to talk about her love for romance novels. But in the past 2 years it’s gone beyond that and there are now several ladies doing reviews on the site and all have their own favorite genres. It’s the place to go for all your book need to know. And right now they’re having a birthday giveaway for an Amazon Kindle loaded with a ton of books.

And the last place I want to talk about is Parajunkie. I’ve been to this site a few times and she’s got a thing for the paranormal. The thing about the site’s owner, Rachel, is that it’s not just paranormal books that make her who she is. She’s a junkie for all things paranormal and has been since a very early age. Right now she’s having a blogoversary and she’s giving 2 lucky winners their choice of books from her personal book shelf.

As everyone knows, I’m hopelessly addicted to book giveaways. I enter just about every one I can find and I’ve actually done pretty good over the past couple years as far as winning goes. Nothing to do backflips over, but can’t complain. So where do I find these giveaways? They’re everywhere!

One of my favorite places to find giveaways is through a Ning site called Book Blogs. This is a huge community and the Giveaway Group has well over a thousand members. Whenever one of the members is hosting a book giveaway on their own sites, they post a notice in the group. And with that many people, there’s never a shortage of blogs to visit.

The other place I go to find book giveaways is through GoodReads. I’ve mentioned them on this site before, but the giveaway section deserves a little love all on its own. Again, because there are so many people on the site, there are always book giveaways going on. The difference is that you don’t have to visit the hosts blogs. These giveaways are done right on site. And there are hundreds of them.

If you know of a great place to find book giveaways or are having one yourself, let me know. I’ll be more than happy to pass along the information and jump in myself.

How many times have you seen a virtual blog tour on one of your favorite book blogs? Ever wonder what it takes to host one of these tours? Well, if you’ve ever been interested in doing so, you need to check out Bobbie Crawford-McCoy and her NURTURE virtual book tourz site. This wonderful lady has all the resources to put writers and blog hosts together to get the word out about both involved. It’s a win-win for both parties.

I seriously don’t know how she does it, but Bobbie has created an entire world around getting the right book tours onto the right blogs. The first step to becoming one of those blogs is to sign up for the hosting package. It is important to note that your site has to be approved before anything further will be done. If your site is approved, you will be sent the hosting welcome package and things will go from there. I have to admit that I have NOT joined the hosting club for one reason only, I’m not sure I have what it takes to host a book tour—or several of them for that matter. I’d love to do it, but would hate to drop the ball where someone else’s world is involved.

The one thing that Bobbie mentions above all else is that hosting a book tour is a daunting task and it takes a lot of time and effort. The rewards behind it are well worth it, but you’ve got to be ready to put your all into it. However, it’s not just the love of books that you’ll get in return for your actions. There’s actually an incentive program in place that gives all hosts a chance at winning a $25 GC from Amazon.com. Each time you host a successful book tour, you’ll earn 1 point. After reaching a total of 5 points, you’ll be entered to win one of these gift cards. There is a drawing each month, so if you don’t win in one month, you’ll be in the next month’s drawing and so forth. Hosts are able to win a total of 3 times per year and everyone’s totals revert back to zero on Jan. 1st.

For those who don’t get to host very often, don’t worry, she’s thought of you too. Twice a year, every host’s name is thrown into a drawing to win one of 3 $25 Amazon GC’s. This happens on the 1st of June and December. Even if you only have 1 point, you’re name is still in the running. And there are 3 cards issued on each drawing.

If you’ve been thinking about getting in on something like this, but didn’t know how, this is the time to check it out. Go visit Bobbie’s site and fill out the form to see if your site qualifies for approval. If you do qualify and start hosting book tours, please let us know here and I’ll be more than happy to pass along the information to the rest of the world. Good luck and let’s go on some Book Tourz!!!!!

There is a huge event going on starting today (8-22-11) through next Monday (8-29-11). It’s the 2nd edition of Small Blogs, Big Giveaways and this one’s got a ton of books just waiting to be had. There are a total of 34 books and 9 gift cards to be given away. Plus, keep an eye out on some of the site’s involved with this giveaway as they’re having smaller giveaways of their own on their sites too.

This is a cool way for some of the smaller book blogs to get their names out there and get noticed. Think you’d like to be involved in something like this? You can. The 3rd edition will be held from September 23rd-30th. There’s a sign up form right on the SBBG site so get in there and get your name in the hat.

Good luck and go win some awesome books!!!

Tonight’s post is only going to be a quickie but there were a couple things I wanted to mention. First and foremost, Happy Birthday H.P. Lovecraft. He would have been 121 today. And for as creepy as some of his work was, it wouldn’t surprise me to find out that he was still among the living, but in another dimension. LOL

Another thing I wanted to tell you about is a giveaway happening right now at Paranormal Haven. They are holding a Fright Night giveaway and 2 winners will be chosen. Winner will get a Fright Night baseball cap, a full-length movie poster, and some Fright Night removable tattoos. And though I’m not a huge movie buff, I’d kinda like to see this movie. Why? Well, I do like some vampire movies—–though I prefer vampire books. But, the idea of having Colin Farrel nibbling on my neck would turn me into a movie buff right now. Then to find out that David Tennant (The previous and most awesome Dr. Who) is also in the movie made me want to run out and see it asap. Hubby would never go, but wouldn’t matter anyway. I’d never remember he was in the room. LOL—Go get in on the giveaway while you can, it ends on August 24th.

And finally, as of Monday (August 22nd), Amanda from On A Book Bender will be hosting her very first Bout of Books Read-A-Thon. This sounded like a lot of fun so I jumped in with both feet and have put my name it the hat to officially be part of this event. Of course, all I’ll be doing is reading, but I have to set goals for this and I will. I just hope I can attain them. LOL

The Read-A-Thon will run from the 22nd through Sunday, August 28th, while the sign up form will be open until Saturday the 27th. There will be 10 different giveaways held during this time, but you’ve got to be signed up in order to enter. So, here are my goals for this event. Because I don’t get a chance to read as often as I’d like, I’m kinda setting myself up for a fall here but what the heck.
Goal #1–To finish reading Perception by Heather Cashman and get my review posted.
Goal #2–To read at least 2 more full books before the end of the event.

I know those don’t sound like big goals, but I really don’t get a lot of time to read. When I do, it’s usually late at night and I’m doing all I can to stay awake to finish at least the next chapter. LOL

So, go check out some of the things happening around the web. If you’ve got an upcoming book related event and would like me to do a post about it, just ask. I’ll be more than happy to pass it along.

I first found Lynda Coker when I started watching the Yardsellr sales. Being a fabric junkie and huge sewing fanatic, I was thrilled when I found her sales and that she offered free S & H. So imagine my surprise when I accidentally found out that she also has an entire blog dedicated not to sewing, but to books. I almost did backflips. Then I found out she was holding a book giveaway and really got excited. You know me, I love a good giveaway.

Lynda is giving away 6 novels to one lucky winners. They are from different genres, including romance and fictional adventure. There are a couple on the list I’d love to read, and the others look interesting. What really grabbed my attention is that the only required entry was to leave a viable comment on ANY book review post. It doesn’t even have to be one a review of one of the books being given away. And, the more book reviews you leave comments on, the more chances you’ll have to win the giveaway. Another entry comes from following her blog on GFC.

This is an easy one, kids. And you’ve got lots of time as this giveaway ends on August 31st. But the more comments (and please make them real comments) the more chances of winning this cool contest.

I’m very happy to announce that I will be working toward “a post a day, everyday” again this month. The NaBloPoMo group works toward this every month, but it’s sometimes not as easy to do as it sounds. The cool this is that every month, they offer a different theme which gives everyone involved a chance to write around something they love, or hate. What caused me to jump on the bandwagon again this month is the theme. This month, the site is having FICTION as their theme. Count me in.

Now mind you, in order to participate, bloggers don’t have to go with the theme completely. They just have to make sure to add a post (or more) every day. But this was almost like a calling from the literary gods for me. I’ve been trying to get back into writing fiction once again, and this was almost like someone from a higher plane of existence reached down and screamed “What more do we need to do to get your attention??? Go For It!!!” So, I am.

Throughout the month, I’ll be adding different things about fiction. Because I do love fictional books so much, I’ll be talking about the ones I’m reading—or trying to read. I’ll add different giveaways going on to win books, and I’ll even do what I can to talk about those who are reviewing the books. If it’s about fiction, I’ll try and post about it here. Whatever I can do to make sure to add something everyday.

I really want to make this work and to be able to say at the end of the month that I achieved my goals. So sit back and come along on a ride to where fiction and reality may end up being the same thing.

Hello Kiddies!!! Did you miss me? Sorry that I’ve been away so long but I’ve been working away at working my life away. Not just at my real world job, but here online trying to find all the latest in goodies to pass along to my loverly readers. Plus I’ve been updating a lot of my other blogs, working on getting my Squidoo page up and running and looking like I almost know what I’m doing, and trying to win anything and everything I can.

Well let’s get down to business. I’ve been searching for some really cool book giveaways, and have found a little more. One of my all-time favorite book blogs is holding a nice little giveaway. This blog, Dark Faerie Tales, was the very first book blog I followed on a regular basis. It was also the place where I discovered giveaways and became addicted. (Please understand that this page maybe getting updated after each entry so that I can legally say that I’ve blogged about each giveaway and I’m not going through convulsions.)

Para-Ops Tote filled with all kinds of goodies.
I love tote bags and my hubby loves food, so this is right up our alley. But more than anything else, I’d love to win this one for the book that comes with this one. It’s called A Vampire’s Salvation by Virna DePaul and it’s just a novella, but that’s cool with me.
Ending Tonight (May 19th) @ 11:59 EST/8:59 PST–(The main reason I’m going to go ahead and post this one is because today is mine and my hubby’s 21st wedding anniversary and I’d be thrilled to tell him I’d won this for us. LOL)

This next giveaway is one I found on the Ning site, Book Blogs. I’ve found a lot of great giveaways on this site and am proud to be a member. This giveaway is through a site called Historical Fiction Obsession and she’s giving away 2 copies of Christine Nolfi’s e-book, Treasure Me.

This one sounds like an awesome book and even if I don’t win, I might have to buy myself a copy anyway. But I’ll give the giveaway a shot first. This giveaway runs until May 23rd and there will be 2 winners.

And finally, I’m showcasing the giveaway for Wild Cards 1. I found the link to this one on Facebook but the actual giveaway is being hosted on GoodReads. This giveaway will be giving away a total of 10 books, so be sure to get your name in on this one. It doesn’t end until June 13th, so you have plenty of time.

I love this site as they’ve got tons of book giveaways all the time. Plus I’ve met some really cool people—readers and writers. If you happen to get in on this one, be sure to stop by my page and add me to your friends list. I can always use another friend or 12.

So there you go, Kiddies. 3 new giveaways for you to play with and enjoy. I’m sure there are more out there and as they come along, I’ll try and pass them along right here. But until then, happy reading and happier writing.

Hey kids, did you miss me??? I apologize for being gone for most of this month, but it’s been chaos around my world. Between my real world job, school activities, and making most of my Christmas gifts, life just got away from me. I did manage to get my Christmas gifts finished, but did so at the 11th hour and didn’t get a chance to take any pictures.

I will tell you about these gifts though, as I”m thinking about making more and selling them. May even be opening my own online store to do so. I’ve been doing a lot of research into online stores and alternatives to both Ebay and Etsy. I know Etsy is almost everyone’s favorite, but I”m broke and need something that isn’t going to cost me any start up fees at all. As soon as I get it together, I’ll pass along the information I’ve collected so everyone can have a shot.

Anyway, I love to sew and make quilt blocks. Problem is I’m not so great at making quilts. I’m still working on my daughter’s, but it’s almost done….just need to put the back on and it’s ready to use. So I decided to take some of my quilt blocks and turn them into purses. I call them Rag Bags as they’re basically a big tote bag. I had a ball making them and the cool thing is that no 2 are exactly alike. I say that because I do the whole thing by hand and sometimes my seams are a bit off, or like one that I made for Christmas, the bags decide to design themselves and I’m only there to run the sewing machine. LOL

In February, I’ll be holding my first giveaway thanks to Simply Stacie and her Handmade With Love Giveaway. I’ll be holding my part on my other site, Redhead Rants. I’m very excited and am already working on a couple of items to give away. I’m hoping to have a store opened up and ready to go by then, with real things ready for sale. LOL. As soon as I get more information on this giveaway, I’ll let you know.

Well, I’d better get back to work. I missed you all very much and I hope you all had a great Christmas. I pray that you all have a great New Year and that we can all say at the end that it was the best one ever.
