Do You Have the Kindle?
I love the Amazon.com Kindle commercials. I sing that catchy little tune every time it comes on. But I always thought that there was no way I could ever own one of those neat little gadgets. Well, the truth is that I can’t afford the handheld model. But I did download the PC version for FREE!!!!! That’s right boys and girls, you can download the PC version of the Amazon Kindle to your home computer or laptop for no money at all.
Want to know something else that’s kinda cool??? There are several titles of e-book that you can also download straight to your PC version of the Kindle, for FREE!!! Yep. Amazon.com has quite the little selection of free fictional e-books you can have with the click of a mouse. I’ve gotten several of them and I hope at some point in my life I’ll actually get to read all of them. I kinda went a little overboard, but I got some cool books. There are a lot of e-books listed that cost less than a dollar per download which I don’t think is too bad either. As a writer I know that getting paid for your work is the name of the game. There are e-books by up and coming authors as well as the classics we’ve all heard a million times. You can even download Treasure Island for FREE!!!
Being an ancient history fanatic and having a deep love of the ancient stories and what we now call Fairy Tales, I had to check out the The Pink Fairy Book and The Green Fairy Book. I also got myself a couple of those steamy romance novels. Yeah, I have to admit that I love them, I just can’t bring myself to spend money on them that could be put to better use. Like buying more fabric for my quilts.
If you’ve been thinking about getting one of the Amazon Kindles but wanted to kind of check it out first, this is the perfect way to do it. It’s like getting to taste the champagne when all you can afford is beer.
