Last Minute Postings

Well if I don’t get something posted here within the next half hour, I’ll break the NaBloPoMo challenge. And since I’ve added a post every day since the first of August, I just can’t bring myself to give up. Even though I’m all but doing this post in my sleep. At the moment, the brain has been eaten alive by my headphones. It’s off dancing in some fantasy realm and this is actually the fingers taking over all motor skills.

I’m probably one of the few people in the United States that’s actually happy that this long weekend is finally over. While most people were out enjoying the last official weekend of summer, I was up to my elbows in tourists, dignitaries, and school alumni. See, our town is so little that previous classes don’t have a special Reunion year. (Example: 25th Reunion). Nope, we have annual alumni dinners. It doesn’t matter if you graduated last year or 60 years ago, it’s all one big dinner and get together.

Normally I’d be in the parade but because I’ve finally given up my position with Boy Scouts, I didn’t even watch it. Not because of anything bad, I just had to work. I work in a restaurant right on main street so I did get to see bits and pieces of it, but because some people decided to eat while the parade passed by, my attentions were needed elsewhere.

I finally got today off. Other than a few things around the house, I didn’t do a whole lot of anything and totally enjoyed it. Sometimes it’s just nice to be able to say “I don’t want to” and be able to get away with it. And the nice thing is that I got enough done today that tomorrow I won’t have to do anything at all. Other than come up with another post for this blog and my other one too. Have a great night.
