Enquiring Minds Want To Know
So I went and did up my weekly Book Bloggers post yesterday about an awesome site called A Moment With Mystee. She was so moved that she sent a huge shout out and thank you on her Facebook status and then did something I really didn’t expect; she tagged me in a new meme. I love meme’s. A couple years ago I did them all the time, but I haven’t been in on one in a VERY long time. So for me, this is way cool.
This meme comes via Dollycas’s Thoughts and is the 5th week of this being in motion. However, this week was a little different as this was the first time she sent out tags. It’s based on the idea that we bloggers spend all our time posting silly stuff, giveaways, reviews and a lot more; as well as reading the same type of things. But, how much do we really know about each other??? So this little meme is a way for all of us to get to know each other a bit more.

So here goes:
List 4 things you carry in your handbag
Um, okay this might be tricky as I don’t normally carry a purse. I have a huge wallet and if it doesn’t fit in there, I probably don’t need it. But we’ll give this a shot.
1.) My Paypal debit card
2.) My flowery pen that I always carry with me but rarely use
3.) A gold coin that isn’t worth squat but was given to me by one of my customers as a good luck token.
4.) A picture of my son in his Navy uniform and my daughter in her choir uniform.
List 4 things on top of your desk
Yeah, this one will be much easier, except trying to narrow it down to only 4 things.
1.) A large, hand-painted ceramic jar full of dry-erase pens for my dry-erase calendar. (I write down everything)
2.) 2 bottles of water, a bottle of Peach/Mango Fuze, and an empty glass of mile
3.) My Kindle, my thesaurus, and 2 notebooks
4.) A mouse pad from Big Fish Games
List 4 of your favorite things in your bedroom
Haw, everything I love is in my bedroom
1.) My bed
2.) My Kindle
3.) My computer
4.) My TV
List 4 things you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t
Wow, this one’s a bit tougher
1.) I’ve always wanted to visit the British Isles. Being part Scottish, part English, part Irish, and part German, it would be like going home.
2.) I’ve always wanted to meet Kiefer Sutherland face to face.
3.) I’ve always wanted to dig for clams.
4.) I’ve always wanted to see a real Broadway play.
List 4 things you really enjoy doing at the moment
Easy one
1.) Reading
2.) Playing with my quilts
3.) Writing
4.) Spending time with my daughter
List 4 songs you can’t get out of your head
Um, please forgive the following songs—I’ve been listening to them on my computer for the past few days
1.) My Ding-A-Ling by Clarence Carter (long story)
2.) Spaceman by Harry Nilsson
3.) Suspicions by Eddie Rabbit
4.) Helen Wheels by Paul McCartney and Wings
List 4 things we don’t know about you
Well that’s easy because that could be just about everything. LOL
1.) I’ve been writing short stories since the 4th grade
2.) I taught myself how to sew on an old 1970′s singer sewing machine I got at a yard sale
3.) My guardian angel drives a little white car (another long story)
4.) I’m not a biker babe, but I am a biker’s baby.
And now I must pass this meme on to 4 other bloggers so here we go with that:
1.) My sunny little friend Ruthi at A Bit O’ Sunshine. She’s awesome
2.) One of my favorite sites- Boobies, Babies and a Blog
3.) The Diva site that is known as Closer To Lucy
4.) Colleen from Shibley Smiles
Have a great day, ya’ll.
The Book Bloggers~~~A Moment With Mystee
Hey kids, I want to introduce you to a site that I’ve really been enjoying for the past couple of weeks. The site is called A Moment With Mystee and this is one of the most killer book blogs I’ve found to date. I love all the paranormal book blogs I hang out at, but Mystee is a book reviewer who reads all sorts of different books. She reads romances, thrillers, mysteries, and even kids books.
Mystee has quite the following on both Google Friend Connect and Network Blogs, as well as on GoodReads.com. I love her page on GoodReads as she rates each and every book she reads. There are a couple books I’ve been thinking about reading, but got a little nervous when I noticed that she hadn’t given them very high ratings. But I’ve never been the kind who conformed to fit in with the masses, so I’ll probably end up reading those books anyway.
And now Mystee is trying out a little something new at her site. She’s started a new project called Share A Link and it’s her way of helping out her fellow bloggers. If you have a book review on your site that you’d like to have more comments on, or if you have a giveaway that has a low entry count, link it up on Mystee’s site and she’ll run by and check it out. This is a VERY cool idea and I’m more than happy to pass this part of her site along to everyone else.
If you enjoy books and want to know the truth behind them, check out A Moment With Mystee. Either on her blog or on her GoodReads page, you’ll find a ton of book reviews and I’m sure you’ll find something interesting and worth reading.
GoodReads Book Giveaways
Hey kids. I’ve really been getting into the whole reading thing lately. And I’m always entering the latest giveaways for books. I’ve been a member of GoodReads for a few months now, but never really paid much attention to the site. The one thing about the site that just completely turns me off is that they want you to give them access to your address list so they can send out invites in your name. In my world, that’s called spam. Sorry, can’t do that. But I can invite people from here to sign up if they so desire.
But that’s not what I came here to discuss. I’m here to tell you about the number of giveaways going on over there right now. Most of the giveaways are about to end, but from what I can tell, this is an on-going type of thing. So far I’ve entered to win a copy of Catching the Rose by Belinda Kroll, What The Night Knows by Dean Koontz, and Old Haunts: A London City Novel by Emmett Spain. Now whether or not I win is another story all together.
If you have a love of books, reading, and meeting like minded people, I do suggest checking out GoodReads. I’m having a lot more fun there since I got my Kindle and started really paying attention to the reviews others leave behind. I’m finding a lot of great titles out there that sound like something I could get nice and cozy with. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a date with Andrew E. Kaufman…well anyway with his book. I’m half way through and I have to find out what’s going on. Night All!!!
